Now that Extensions & Franchise Tags are Closed, the following are 2018 Compensation Picks based on the current rules. COMPENSATION DRAFT PICKS MAY NOT BE TRADED UNTIL THE PLAYER ASSOCIATED WITH THAT PICK IS CHOSEN IN FREE AGENCY.
TYPE A PICKS - END OF 1ST ROUND
QB (1-5) None
RB (1-10) Carlos Hyde (#10) - 49ers - 208.2 Points
WR (1-10) Jarvis Landry (#7) - Bengals - 213.6 Points
Larry Fitzgerald (#8) - Bengals - 210.1 Points
TE (1-5) Jimmy Graham (#5) - Browns - 143.8 Points
DE (1-5) Demarcus Lawrence (#2) - Bengals - 180.8 Points
LB (1-15) CJ Mosley (#3) - Jets - 225.7 Points
Wesley Woodyard (#9) - Colts - 214 Points
Preston Brown (#10) - Chargers - 194.7 Points
Navaro Bowman (#12) - Colts - 188.7 Points
S (1-5) Reshad Jones (#1) - Falcons - 210 Points
Comp Pick draft order is in declining order of points scored, the Type A comp picks would look like this:
#1 - Jets (Mosley)
#2 - Colts (Woodyard)
#3 - Bengals (Landry)
#4 - Bengals (Fitzgerald)
#5 - Falcons (Jones)
#6 - 49ers (Hyde)
#7 - Chargers (Brown)
#8 - Colts (Bowman)
#9 - Bengals (Lawrence)
#10 - Browns (Graham)
TYPE B PICKS - END OF 2ND ROUND
DT (1-5) None
DE (6-10) Jadeveon Clowney (#7) - Ravens - 153.5 Points
CB (1-10) Kyle Fuller (#5) - Cowboys - 153.7 Points
Darqueze Denard (#7) - Packers - 150.7 Points
Jason McCourty (#8) - Bengals - 145.4 Points
S (6-10) Micah Hyde (#6) - Bengals - 162.5 Points
So the order for the Type B comp picks would look like this:
#1 - Bengals (Hyde)
#2 - Cowboys (Fuller)
#3 - Ravens (Clowney)
#4 - Packers (Denard)
#5 - Bengals (McCourty)
The comp pick rules have been published all year and the picks are a pure calculation, no judgement. The number of picks, particularly Type A has increased dramatically from 7 (2016) to 4 (2017) and 10 (2018). Type B picks were 6 (2016), 3 (2017) and 5 (2018).
We have a Committee of Wood (Packers) and David (Bengals) working a revised comp draft pick system for 2019. When their recommendation is complete, all GMs will then vote on it for the 2019 season.
