Corresponding Move Period - FAILED

Currently our rules state that if you are acquiring a player, you must have the roster spot open and does not allow correlating moves.

This rule proposes that you are not required to have a free roster spot open. If this rule is approved, upon going over the roster limit or salary cap after a transaction, you will have 24 hours to correct the roster violations.


You must put your corresponding move within the same post. No grace period will be granted.

We did this in another league, difficult to police and makes for more work if you actually actively enforce it...too many times I got, "internet was down, busy at work, I forgot or I was about to do it." whenever I went to "fine" the said GM

I have this in the baseball league I run. No problem really. It's what they do in the pros. Plus, if you're over the roster limit, it won't fit on ESPN.

I can't see a strong enough argument for either way of handling this to vote except to say that whatever is acceptable for the LMs

I feel like this would create too many issues. Let's say a team won an auction for a player they don't have cap room for - what would happen if the owner still doesn't have the open spot/cap space after 24 hours? (maybe they were hoping to complete a trade to make cap room but it falls through or gets vetoed) Does the player go to the second highest bidder? Is it fair that the first owner drove the price up for a player they couldn't acquire?

Happy to possibly change my mind if someone can clarify this.

This seems like it just adds more work for LMs. Some rules are better in real life, then they are in the fantasy realm. In efforts to keep everything transparent, it's probably best to keep as is.

I vote no, if you don't have the cap or roster space you shouldn't be able to receive player.

Small update for this one is that we will only accept corresponding moves that are stated in the same post.

Something along the format of: If X is signed, drop Y OR If this trade is approved, drop Y.
