To help build draft hype, and since one hasn't been done yet, I figured I would throw one out there. I'm not a psychic, and I don't know how you plan to build your team. So if I'm way off feel free to respond to the post, but no need to kill me.... IT'S JUST A MOCK GUYS lmao!
Enjoy!
1. Atlanta Falcons: Leonard Fournette (LSU)
With needs across the board, makes since for Falcons to take the highest offensive talent with the opportunity to contribute RIGHT NOW
.
2. New England Patriots: Christian McCaffrey (STAN)
After locking in Flacco for 3 years, it only makes sense for NE to put some talent around him. Adding what many consider the most versatile offensive talent is a good start.
3. New England Patriots: Corey Davis (WMICH)
With Perkins already on the roster and by already adding the RB of their future, it wouldn't hurt to get a high upside receiver in the best situation off the bat.
4. San Diego Chargers: Joe Mixon (OKL)
With Matthew Stafford in his last year and a potential franchise candidate, current defensive depth and quality skill players, might not hurt for the Chargers to add a high upside RB to replace their current RB's who both are both on 1 year deals.
5. New York Jets: Deshawn Watson (CLEM)
Jay Cutler retired and Nick Foles is a sub par back up QB. Enough said.
6. New Orleans Saints: Dalvin Cook (FSU)
With 3 picks in the top half of the draft, and though a glaring need at TE in a deep TE draft, with the current run of RB's off the board, this would make sense.
7. Tennessee Titans: Mitch Trubisky (UNC)
With McCown on a one year deal, and a roster not bad enough to ensure him a run at a top draft pick next year, makes sense to get you a QB of the future to build around.
8. Cincinatti Bengals: Mike Williams (CLEM)
With a stacked roster as is, the rich get richer by adding a instant Red Zone threat for Phillip Rivers in that pass happy, high voltage Chargers offense.
9. Chicago Bears: John Ross (WASH)
Talks out of Chicago is that they are looking to move down. But if they do decide to draft here, might as well take a burner to go along with Thomas for the next 4 years.
10. Jacksonville Jaguars: OJ Howard (ALA)
With Tons of cap and a few holes to fill, wouldn't hurt to draft the best TE that can have an immediate impact serving as an instant match-up problem.
11. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Sam Perine (OKLA)
After paying Siemen 15M for 1 year, and only having TJ Yeldon at RB, The Bucs need instant production, and out of the remaining RB's, Perine probably has the most likely path to seeing the field this year.
12. Arizona Cardinals: Curtis Samuel (OKLA)
Cardinals need to put some talent around Jameis. With Ginn out of Carolina, why not take a shot on a speed demon that can line up in the back field and also run a deep go route. Plus they need another receiver who doesn't play for the Cardinals with the last name Brown.
13. New York Jets: Alvin Kamara (TENN)
Only rostering 1 RB, and many saying Kamara will like be the 3rd down back in NO, the Jets need to draft someone to play alongside Ware.
14. Jacksonsville Jaguars: Kareem Hunt (TOL)
With a team full of youth, not a bad idea to add a talented RB, that could overtake Ware in the chiefs backfield with time.
15. New Orleans Saints: Evan Ingram (OLEM)
Crockett Gilmore is their starting TE. Enough said.
16. New Orleans Saints: Zay Jones (ECU)
Another offensive piece with the potential to produce immediately.
17. Dallas Cowboys: David Njoku (MIA)
Its lonely at the top. With Gronk damn near guaranteed to be the #1 TE this season barring injury, that price tag next year may force the Boys to let him walk. Wouldn't hurt to go ahead and grab his replacement. Njoku is going to get his targets on a Browns team void of offensive play-makers.
18. Washington Redskins: Patrick Mahommes (TXT)
Redskins have already stated they are building, and I'm not sure if they are looking to snag their future QB in next years draft. But if Mahommes drops here, might not be a bad idea to go ahead and lock him in.
19. Cincinnati Bengals: Rueben Foster (ALA)
Its hard making the picks for stacked teams. With youth and depth at RB, and already taking Williams, the Bengals take what could potentially be a top 5 LB from day one.
20. Cincinatti Bengals: Myles Garret (TXA&M)
With a stacked offense, and after losing Quinn to the LB designation, the Bengals can potentially draft the next JJ Watt.
21. Chicago Bears: Dont'a Forman (TEX)
A 3-down back that could see the field, especially with the underwhelming performance of Miller.
22. Los Angeles Rams: Marlon Mack (USF)
With a RB core full of 1 year rentals, makes sense to triy to find a fit in Frank Gores potential replacement.
23. Dallas Cowboys: Ju-Ju Smith Schuster (USC)
Another offensive piece for an already stacked team. With Devin Funchess not making the expected strides in Carolina, Schuster might serve as a nice upgrade in that Pitt offense.
24. Houston Texans: Jared Davis (FLA)
Word is Davis might step up immediately into the MLB slot. Nice add for a team that has need at LB.
25. Oakland Raiders: Chris Godwin (PENN)
Raiders need help at WR and though I don't have Smith-Schuster being available here anymore, Godwin has as much potential as anyone in this draft class and would be a great pick here.
26. Buffalo Bills: Joe Williams (UTA)
With not 1 RB on the roster, Williams fits the bill as a high upside guy who could replace the oft-injured Carlos Hyde if given the opportunity.
27. Oakland Raiders: Aaron Jones (UTEP)
The Packers backfield is notoriously thin at the moment so it's worth taking a shot here. Jones might actually be the best RB in that backfield.
28. Oakland Raiders: ArDarius Stewart (ALA)
Who knows what Decker will be this year and Enunwa is average. Stewart could become an impact player for the Jets.
29. Green Bay Packers: Hassan Reddick (TEMPLE)
Reddick will have an immediate impact in that Cardinal defense.
30. Dallas Cowboys: Derrick Barnett (TENN)
Honestly, I have no idea who they would consider here smh.
31. Washington Redskins: Jamal Adams (LSU)
Could step in instantly alongside Neal and make an impact for the Skins.
32. Buffalo Bills: Deshone Kizer (ND)
Bills need a QB, and getting the project Kizer as the last pick in the 1st isn't a bad deal. Especially if he sees the field sooner than later.
Enjoy!
